PhD Defence — ETH Zurich

On June 4, 2025, defended the PhD thesis “Hybrid AI-Physical Modeling in Interferometric SAR: Bridging Data-Driven and Physics-Based Approaches for Enhanced Parameter Retrieval” at ETH Zurich — supervised by Prof. Dr. Irena Hajnsek, examined by Prof. Dr. Ralph Dubayah, Prof. Anna Hogg, and Dr. Ronny Hänsch, with Prof. Dr. Peter Molnar chairing.

Afterward came the Earth Observation group’s tradition of building a “graduation hat” that reflects the thesis topic, shared with group colleague Shiyi Li, who defended in the same month. Covered by the EO group news and DLR’s own announcement.
